This step by step woodworking project is about rabbit hutch plans free. If you want to build a nice and cozy shelter for your furry pets, you should take a look over my plans. This bunny house is extremely easy to make by any person with basic woodworking skills and it features large doors for easy access. With common materials and tools you can build this project in one weekend. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Building a rabbit house
The first step of the project is to build the side walls for the rabbit hutch. Cut the components at the dimensions shown in the diagram and then assemble them together with 2 1/2″ screws. Cut the top of the vertical supports at 75 degrees.
Drill pilot holes through the vertical components and insert the screws into the perpendicular supports. Leave no gaps between the components and align the edges flush.
The next step of the bunny house project is to assemble the front wall. Cut the components for the hutch from 2×4 and 2×2 lumber. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the 2×2 components and secure them to the vertical supports with 2 1/2″ screws.
Build the back wall for the rabbit hutch in the same manner as described above.
After building the four wall frames and lock them together with 2 1/2″ screws. Drill pilot holes through the front and back vertical supports and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the side walls. Make sure the corners are square and align the edges flush, for a professional result.
Build the floor frame for the rabbit hutch from 2×2 lumber. Cut the components at the proper dimensions and then lock them together with 2 1/2″ screws. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the components (except for the 21″ long components).
Fit the floor frame to the rabbit hutch, as shown in the diagram. Drill pilot holes through the floor frame and insert 2 1/2″ screws,.
