In addition, we recommend you to invest in high-quality materials, such as pine, redwood or cedar, as they have a nice finish and are highly durable, especially in a humid environment.
If you don’t have a rich expertise in woodworking field, you should ask a friend to give you a hand with the project. There are many things that you could go wrong, so make sure you plan everything and invest in quality materials. Select the lumber with attention, making sure the components are perfectly straight and in a very good condition. Use a carpentry square to check if the corners are right-angled. Locker Plans
Â
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the frame of the locker. Cut the components out of 1×12 lumber at the right size and smooth the edges using a piece of sandpaper. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the horizontal components and insert 1 1/4″ screws into the side components. Make sure the corners are square and add waterproof glue to the joints. In addition, drill pocket holes along the top edges of the side components.

The next step of the project is to fit the partitions to the locker. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the components, align them with great care and secure them into place by using 1 1/4″ screws. Check if the corners are square before inserting the galvanized screws.

Cut the back of the locker out of 1/4″ plywood and attach it to the frame of the locker, as described in the diagram. Insert 1 1/4″ screws through the back into the frame and add waterproof glue to create a rigid structure. Make sure the corners are right-angled, after adding each component.

Attach the 1×2 trim to the top of the locker. Drill pocket holes along the trim and secure it into place by using 1 1/4″ screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints and
