This step by step diy woodworking project is about how to build shed doors with windows. These simple doors features a sturdy frame with windows, so you can have plenty of light inside of the shed. Remember that you need to read the local building codes before starting the construction, so you comply with the legal requirements. See my other shed plans HERE [1].
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.

Step 9: Building a shed door with window
The first step of the project is to build the jambs for the front door. Cut the components from 2×4 lumber and then lock them into place with 3 1/2″ screws. Align the edges with attention and make sure the corners are square.
Build the door from from 1×4 lumber, using pocket holes and 1 1/4″ screws. Align the edges with attention and make sure the corners are square. Add glue to the joints and make sure the edges are aligned.
Attach the T1-11 siding sheet to the frame with 1 1/4″ screws and glue. Align the edges flush and attach the polycarbonate panels into the slots, as shown in the diagram.
Afterwards, attach another frame to the door panel and lock it into place with 2″ nails and glue. Align the edges flush and install the 1×2 trims to the window panels (secure them into place with glue).
Fit the double doors to the opening and then secure them to the jambs with hinges. In addition, fit the latch to keep the doors together tightly.
Smooth the surface with sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain over the components, to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the shed.
