This step by step woodworking project is about extra large dog house plans free. If you have a large dog and you want to build an appropriate outdoor shelter for it, then you should check out my free plans. I have designed this dog house with lean to roof, creating an extremely sturdy structure with a neat appearance. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Extra Large Dog House Plans – Free DIY Plans
The first step of the project is to build the frame for the floor of the dog house. Cut the joists from 2×4 lumber and smooth the edges with sandpaper. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the perpendicular components.
Attach the 3/4″ plywood floor to the frame. Align the edges flush, drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws into place. Leave no gaps between the components.
Continue the project by assembling the frame of the front wall. Drill pilot holes through the plates and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the studs. Make sure you take accurate measurements before fitting the components into place.
Build the side walls for the dog house from 2×4 lumber. Drill pilot holes through the plates and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the studs.
Use the techniques described above to build the back wall.
Fit the wall frames to the floor of the large dog house. Make sure the edges are flush, then drill pilot holes through the bottom plates and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the joists. In addition, you have to secure the adjacent walls together tightly using 2 1/2″ screws. Make sure the corners are square for a professional result.
Make sure you take a look over PART 2 of the large dog house project, so you learn how to build the roof and how to attach the exterior walls.
This large dog house is a project that any diy-er can make with minimum effort. In addition, you can make a few adjustments to my plans and add insulation to the walls, floor and roof of the shelter. There are many upgrades you can make to these plans, so they suit your needs perfectly.
