This step by step woodworking project is about swing bed plans free. Today I share these simple plans for you to build a swing bed, using common tools and materials. This swing bed can be built in one weekend using just a saw, a drill and a sander. Using a pocket hole jig would help, as well. You can build this swing bed in one weekend. See my other DIY projects HERE.

We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

Building the bed frame

First of all, you need to build the frame of the swing bed from 2×6 lumber, Cut the components at the right dimensions and then assemble them with 2 1/2″ screws. Drill pilot holes before inserting the screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. Add glue to the joints for a professional result.

Fitting the cleats

Last but not least, you need to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the swing bed and to protect it from decay. If you like my project, don’t forget to SHARE it on Facebook and Pinterest.
