Building the frames

Building the frames

The first step of the project is to build the frames for the front and back faces of the indoor playhouse. As you can easily notice in the diagram, we recommend you to build the components out of 2×2 lumber. Drill pilot holes, align the edges with great attention and add glue to enhance the bond of the components.

Assembling the frame of the playhouse

The next step of the project is to assemble the frame of the playhouse. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the side components and secure them to the frames using 2 1/2″ screws. Make sure the corners are square and add glue to enhance the rigidity of the joints.

Building the side walls

Building the side walls

Continue the project by fitting the side walls to the indoor playhouse. As you can easily notice in the diagram, you need to cut the panel out of 3/4″ plywood. Use a jigsaw to cut out the window opening and smooth the edges with fine-grit sandpaper. Drill pocket holes along the edges and secure the panel to the frame using 1 1/4″ screws.

Leave no gaps between the components and align the edges in a professional manner.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. In order to get a professional result, fill the holes and the gaps with wood filler and let it dry out for a few hours. Check if there are protruding screws and fix this issue, if necessary.
