This step by step woodworking project is about diy stilts plans. If you want to build a quick and fun outdoor game, you need to check out this project. You need to adjust the size of the stilts to suit your needs. I have come up with step by step instructions and a detailed cut list, so you can build this in one weekend. You can build this picnic table in one weekend. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you cou ld afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

Building wooden stilts
The first step of the project is to build the supports for the stilts. Use 2×3 lumber and cut the components as shown in the diagram. Add glue to the joints, drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws to lock them together tightly.
Use 2×6 lumber for the steps. Round the corners with a jigsaw and then smooth them with sandpaper. Make a notch to the steps, so you can fit them into place tightly.
Fit the steps to the stilts, as shown in the diagram. Drill pilot holes and secure the steps to the supports.
Last but not least, you need to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the bench and to protect it from decay. If you like my project, don’t forget to SHARE it on Facebook and Pinterest.
