Building the legs

The first step of the woodworking project is to build the legs for the bench seat. In order to get a professional result, we recommend you to cut both ends of the legs at 15 degrees.

Smart Tip: Smooth the cut edges with sandpaper and remove the residues with a cleaner.

Attaching the braces

Attaching the braces

Cut the braces out of 2×3 lumber, making sure the ends are cut at 15 degrees. Drill pilot holes through the braces and secure them to the legs after taking accurate measurements. Insert 2 1/2″ galvanized screws and countersink their heads.

Just used this for a bench for our backyard ice rink. Super easy and I love the sturdiness of it. Thanks so much.
