This step by step woodworking project is about free 8×8 mini barn shed plans. If you want to build a small barn shed, you should check out my step by step instructions for a super detailed image. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Building a 8×8 mini gambrel shed
The first step of the project is to build the floor for the storage shed from 2×6 lumber. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the perpendicular components. Align the edges flush and then insert the screws.
Make sure you attach 4×4 skids to the floor of the shed, so you lift it from the ground and protect it from moisture. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and then insert 3 1/2″ screws into the skids.
Use 3/4″ plywood for the floor of the shed. Align the edges flush, making sure you leave no gaps between the components. Drill pilot holes and then insert 1 5/8″ screws so you secure them into place tightly.
Build the side wall frames for the mini barn shed from 2×4 lumber. Cut the components for the wall frames at the right dimensions, as shown in the diagram. Drill pilot holes through the plates and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the studs. Place the studs every 24″ on center and make sure the corners are square.
Build the back wall from 2×4 lumber. Cut the components at the right dimensions and use 3 1/2″ screws to lock everything tightly. Make sure the corners are square and align the edges flush.
Frame the front wall for the mini barn shed. Use 2×4 lumber for the components and install a double header, so you enhance the structure of the frame.
Fit the walls to the floor of the shed and align the edges flush. Drill pilot holes through the bottom plates and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the floor. In addition, lock the adjacent wall together tightly, so you enhance the rigidity of the structure.
Fit T1-11 siding to the sides of the barn shed. Cut the sheets to the dimensions indicated in the diagram and use 2″ brad nails to secure the siding to the studs and plates, every 8″ along the framing.
