This step by step woodworking project is about skateboard rack plans. This skateboard rack will help you organize your boards and save a lot of space. These plans can be easily customized to suit your needs. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

How to build a simple skateboard rack
First of all, you need to build the base for the skateboard rack. Mark the cut line on the 1×6 lumber and get the job done with a jigsaw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Next, you need to build the vertical supports for the skateboard rack. Make an angle cut to the base of the supports and then round the top of the supports with a jigsaw.
Make the slots for the skateboards using a jigsaw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Assemble the frame of the rack by installing the 1×4 supports to the back of the frame. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and secure them to the vertical supports using 1 1/4″ screws. Add glue to the joints and make sure you align the edges flush.
Drill pocket holes at both ends of the bottom support and secure it to the sides using 1 1/4″ screws. Make sure the corners are square and add glue to the joints.
Attach the base to the sides of the skateboard rack. Use glue and 1 1/4″ brad nails to secure the bases to the sides of the rack. Fill the holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the project.
If you are passionate about skateboarding, then you should consider organizing your boards by making a beautiful rack. You can easily adjust the size of the skate to suit your needs. If you like my project, don’t forget to SHARE it on Facebook and Pinterest.
