This step by step woodworking project is about full size floating queen size platform bed plans. If you want to enhance the look of your bedroom, you should consider building a floating bed. This project features instructions for building a wooden made full size bed frame. Follow the building codes and hire a professional contractor if you don’t have the right skills to undertake the project on your own.

We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy quality lumber, such as pine. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

The second part of the materials list I’m confused about. It seems like those pieces of wood we don’t need. Can you please explain what there for?

You should probably include (for the 2×8) what length boards you should cut each piece out of. Given as I write this reply I have not finished the bedframe. But I have built houses before and cutting lengths out of the wrong size material can put a damper on things.

Really? This is a bed frame for a full size mattress which measures 53″x75″

The poster is correct, the introductory paragraph mentions both full size and queen size beds and is potentially confusing.

I’m a bit confused over the sizes here.
The overall outside is shown at 56″ and from 2″ thick section, so the inside should measure 52″ yet you show it as 53″ ??

You need to get accustomed to actual sizes of lumber. A 2×6 is 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.
