This step by step diy woodworking project is about corner desk plans. Building a corner desk

Building the desk table

The first step of the woodworking project is to build the storage unit, building the components out of 3/4″ plywood. Make sure you take accurate measurements and invest in high quality materials, if you want to get a professional result.

Fitting the shelves

The next step of the project is to fit the shelves to the structure. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the components and secure them to the structure with 1 1/4″ screws. Check if the shelves are horizontal and make sure the corners are right-angled. Adjust the distance between the shelves to suit your needs.

Fitting the trims

Continue the project by fitting the trims to the base of the corner desk. Cut the trims at the right size and attach the to the bottom of the unit, as seen in the image. Cut the ends of the components at 45 degrees, in order to get a neat appearance. Secure the trims to the storage unit, by using 1 1/4″ finishing nails.

Fitting the tabletop supports

Build the frame of the desktop using 1×2 slats. Cut components at the right size and lock them together with 1 1/4″ screws, after drilling pocket holes, at both ends of the short components. Add glue to enhance the rigidity of the frame.

Fitting the countertop

Cut the desktop out of 3/4″ plywood, using the information described in the image. Align the components with attention and lock them into place by inserting galvanized screws through the frame into the tabletop. Add waterproof glue to the joints in order to get the job done in a professional manner.

Office desk plans

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.
