This step by step diy woodworking project is about washer dryer pedestal plans. If you want to build a storage pedestal for your washer machine, pay attention to these plans and buy durable materials. Plan every step of the project with great care otherwise you might end up spending more money than initially planned. All the components should be in perfect condition (straight and without any visible flaws).

Building a dryer washer pedestal
Materials

- B – 16 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 25” long JOISTS
- C – 2 pieces of 3/4″ plywood – 28″x60″ long FLOORING
- D – 6 piece of 4×4 lumber – 11″ LEGS
- 1 piece of 4×4 lumber – 8 ft

Building a washer dryer pedestal
Building a dryer washer pedestal
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the base of the washer dryer pedestal. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to cut the 2×4 slats at the right size and to lock them together with 2 1/2″ galvanized screws. Check if the corners are right angled by using a carpentry square.
Attaching the plywood floor
The next step of the project is to attach the 3/4″ plywood flooring to the base frame, in order to get a professional result. Draw the cut lines before adjusting the size of the plywood sheet to the right dimensions. Align the plywood panel and lock it into place with 1 5/8″ galvanized screws.
Attaching the legs
Continue the woodworking project by attaching the 4×4 legs to the base frame. As you can notice in the plans, we recommend you to drill pocket holes through the posts and to insert 2 1/2″ galvanized frame into the base frame. Plumb the posts with a spirit level and add waterproof glue to the joints.
Attaching the top of the pedestal
One of the last steps of the project is to attach the top to the pedestal. Align the frame at both ends and drill pocket holes through the posts before inserting screws into it. Work with attention and always check the corners for squareness before fitting a component.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.
