This step by step diy woodworking project is about rolling bed table plans. This rolling bed table is designed for a king-size bed frame, so make sure you adjust the size of the top according to the dimensions of your bed. Make sure you pay attention to the instructions described in the video and don’t forget to check out the rest of the woodworking plans featured on our website.

Before starting the actual construction project, we recommend you to plan everything, as to save money and to keep the costs under control. Adjust the size and the design of the rolling bed table to suit your needs. In addition, we recommend you to invest in high-quality materials, such as pine, redwood or cedar, as they have a nice finish and are highly durable, especially in a humid environment.

If you don’t have a rich expertise in woodworking field, you should ask a friend to give you a hand with the project. There are many things that you could go wrong, so make sure you plan everything and invest in quality materials. Select the lumber with attention, making sure the components are perfectly straight and in a very good condition. Use a carpentry square to check if the corners are right-angled. Building the side components

Building the side components

The first step of the woodworking project is about building the sides of the bed table. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to cut the top of the 1×12 slats at 45 degrees. Use a circular saw to make the angle cuts and smooth the edges with sandpaper. Remove the residues with a cleaner.

Attaching the tabletop

Continue the woodworking project by attaching the top components, as shown in the diagram. Cut both ends of the component at 45 degrees and attach it to the side components. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the side components and insert 1 1/4″ screws to create rigid joints. Add waterproof glue to enhance the bond of the components. Make sure the corners are right-angled before inserting the screws.

Fitting the caster wheels

One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to attach the 2″ caster wheels to the bottom of the side components. Align the caster wheels with great care and lock them into place with several screws.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.

Smart tip: Apply several coats of stain or paint to the wooden components, if you want to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the rolling bed table.
