This step by step diy woodworking project is about glass end table plans. If you want to get the job done in a professional manner, we recommend you to study several alternatives and to select the plans that really suit your needs and fit within your budget. Work with attention and invest in high-quality materials, if you want to get a professional result and to build a durable glass table.

There are several aspects that you should take into account before starting the actual construction of the project. Therefore, you need to adjust the design and the size of the end table, as to fit your needs. If you don’t have a large expertise in the field, we strongly recommend you to pay attention to the instructions that are described in the article and to ask a skilled friend to give you a hand.

If you want to get a professional result, we recommend you to use proper tools. Always align the components at both ends and make sure the corners are right-angled before inserting the screws. Use a pocket hole jig to drill several pocket holes before inserting the screws, in order to prevent the wood from splitting. Moreover, add waterproof glue to the joints in order to enhance the rigidity of the frame. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Building the legs of the table

Building the legs of the table

The first step of the project is to build the legs of the end table. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to build the legs out of 2×2 lumber. Take accurate measurements and adjust their size by using a proper circular saw.

Building the support of the table

Building the support of the table

Building the frame of the ends table is easy, but you need to make sure the ends of the components are cut at about 45 degrees. Use a good circular saw to make the angle cuts and before inserting the screws, make sure the corners are right-angled. Add waterproof glue to the joints, if you want to get a rigid structure. Drill pocket holes through the legs and insert 2 1/2″ galvanized screws into the tabletop frame.

Attaching the base components

Attaching the base components

If you want to add character to the end table, we recommend you to attach two pieces of 2×2 lumber to the base of the structure. Work with attention and drill pocket holes at both ends of the components before inserting the screws into the legs.

Last but not least, you should attach the glass tabletop to the wooden structure. Make sure exposed edges of the glass are smooth, otherwise you might injure easily in the sharp edges.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.

Smart Tip: Apply several coats of stain or paint to the wooden components, if you want to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the table.
