Building the frame of the shoe organizer

Building the frame of the shoe organizer

The first step of the project is to build the frame of the shoe organizer. Therefore, cut the components out of 3/4″ plywood and smooth the cut edges with sandpaper. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the horizontal components and lock them to the sides with galvanized screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints in order to enhance the bond of the components.

Building the shelves

Building the shelves

Continue the woodworking project by making the shelves and the partitions for the shoe organizer. Therefore, we recommend you to mark the cut lines on the plywood components and to make the cuts with a circular saw. Smooth the cut edges with sandpaper and remove the residues with a cleaner. Use a chisel to clan the recess. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the components by using a pocket hole jig.

Fitting the shelves

Assemble the shelves with the partitions and fit them inside the frame of the shoe organizer. Secure the components to the frame by inserting 1 1/4″ screws. Make sure the corners are square and don’t leave any gaps between the components.
