Building a harvest table

Building the legs

The first step of the woodworking project is about building the four legs of the harvest table. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to make a notch at the bottom of the legs. Make several parallel cuts and clean the recess with a chisel and sandpaper.

Attaching the aprons

Continue the project by attaching the aprons to the top of the wooden legs. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to drill pocket holes at both ends of the 2×4 components and to insert screws into the legs. Make sure the corners are right-angled and the legs are perfectly plumb before inserting the screws.

Fitting the supports

If you want to reinforce the structure of the wooden table, we recommend you to fit several supports between the side supports of the harvest table. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and secure them into place with 2 1/2″ screws, after making sure the corners are right-angled.

Attaching the stretcher

Fit the supports to the bottom of the legs and secure them into place tightly. Work with attention and with great care, otherwise the structure won’t be rigid.

Building the tabletop

Building the tabletop is a straight forward process, but you need to work with attention and to lay the components on a level surface. Drill pocket holes as described in the image and secure the components together with 2 1/2″ galvanized screws.

Attaching the tabletop

Center the frame of the table to the tabletop, drill pocket holes through the supports and insert the screws into the slats. Make sure the components are aligned in a professional manner, otherwise the end result might not be symmetrical.

Harvest table plans

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.
