Building bathroom shelves
Â
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the sides of the bathroom shelves. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to cut the components at the right size and to lock them together with screws and waterproof glue. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and insert the screws into the legs with galvanized screws.
Â
Â
After building the two sides of the bath shelves, we recommend you to lock them together with 1×3 supports, as shown in the image. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and lock them to the legs with galvanized screws. Check if the supports are perfectly horizontal by using a spirit level.
Â
Â
One of the last steps of the project is to attach the 1×12 shelves to the supports. Make sure you cut out the corners of the shelves as shown in the plans, before fitting them into place. Drill pocket holes through the supports and insert 1 1/4″ screws into the shelves.
Â
Â
Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.
