DIY Project – 12 ft Picnic Table

Thank you for the plans!!!

The better part of 2 days was used on this table, more than half of the time was spent staining the wood. I would suggest investing in a sprayer for the stain to save a lot of time. I bought a $40 kreg jig and $30 clamp that works well with it and it made the pilot holes super easy and clean. I spent between 250 and 300 on everything including the jigs. The project calls for 20 3.5″ carriage bolts, but note that it also requires four 6″ carriage bolts for the middle stand, where you have 2 2×6 cross bars(one on each side of the stand). Make yourself a little spacer out of 2×6 scrap that is 8.5″ long and draw a straight line long ways. Use this to space out and line up the cross bars for the stands, much easier than trying to line up all of the measurements at once.

Thanks again for the plans!!
