This step by step woodworking project is about wooden 6 pack holder plans. If you want to build an elegant wood caddy for a six pack, or you are looking for an unique gift idea, you should really check out this design. This beer caddy features a cap catcher and an elegant handle. You can adjust the size of the beer caddy to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

How to build a 6 pack beer caddy
The first step of the project is to build the slats for the beer caddy. Mark the cut lines on the slats and then get the job done with a saw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Fit the beer caddy faces to the bottom slat. Align the edges with attention and make sure the corners are square. Drill pilot holes through the bottom slat and insert 2″ nails into the faces. Add glue to the joints.
Fit a slat to the front of the caddy. Make 45 decorative cuts to the exposed edges and fit it into place with 2″ nails. Add glue to the joints.
Fit 1×2 (1/4″ thick) strips to the sides of the beer caddy. Align the edges flush and fit 1/2″ plywood between the strips of wood, so you can create even gaps. Insert 3/4″ nails and glue to secure the strips into place tightly.
Use a 1″ spade bit to make the cuts to the sides of the caddy, so you can fit the handle into place tightly.
Cut a 1″ dowel to 9 1/2″ using a sharp saw. Fit the dowel into place and align the edges flush. Use glue and a 1″ nail to lock the handle into place tightly.
Fit the bottle cap opener to the front of the caddy. Drill pilot holes to prevent the wood from splitting.
Make sure you let the glue to dry out for a few hours before taking care of the finishing touches.
Fill the holes with wood putty and then smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the caddy and to protect the components from wearing. Apply a few coats of lacquer to seal the finish.
