This step by step woodworking project is about shooting table plans. This project is ideal if you are passionate about weapons and you want to improve your shooting. You can adjust the size of the shooting bench to suit your needs. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Building a shooting table
Build the legs from 4×4 lumber. As you can see, you need to set them into the ground for at least 10″.
Fit the 2×6 braces to the legs, as shown in the plans. Use a spirit level to plumb the legs and make sure the corners are square. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws to secure the braces to the top of the posts.
Build the frame of the tabletop from 2×6 lumber. Align the components and clamp them together. Drill pilot holes and lock everything tightly with 2 1/2″ screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints. Make sure the corners are right-angled.
Complete the tabletop frame with the rest of the 2×6 components. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws.
Attach the tabletop frame to the posts, as shown in the plans. Use a spirit level to plumb the frame. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws to lock everything tightly.
Attach the seat support to the frame of the shooting bench. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws. Make sure the corners are right angled before inserting the screws.
Glue two pieces of 3/4′ plywood to make the seats. Make sure you use waterproof plywood, as the components will be exposed to the elements. Use 2 1/2″ screws to secure the seats into place. Alternatively, you can use 2×14 lumber.
Build the top from 1×6 lumber. Cut the slats at the right dimensions and secure them to the frame with 1 1/4″ screws, after drilling pilot holes.
Apply a few coats of stain over the components to protect them from the elements.
