This step by step woodworking project is about target stand plans. This is a super simple target stand you can build in less than one hour using just 2×4 lumber. Cut the components to size and then assemble everything with 2 1/2″ screws. I hope you will enjoy my tutorial as much as I did making it! You can adjust the size of the target stand to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. See all my Premium Plans in the Shop.

Target Stand Plans
Build the frame of the target stand from 2×4 lumber. Drill pilot holes through the sides and insert 2 1/2″ screws to lock everything together tightly. Align the edges flush and make sure the corners are square.
Next, attach the supports to the frame of the target stand, as shown in the diagram. Drill pilot holes at both ends of the supports and insert 2 1/2″ screws to lock everything together tightly.
Build the base for the target stand from 2×6 lumber. Cut the exposed corners of the target stand in a decorative manner using a saw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Center the base components to the frame of the target stand and secure them into place with 2 1/2″ screws. Make sure the frame is plumb and check if the corners are square before inserting the screws.
This is a basic target stand. You can adjust the size of the project easily so it suits your needs and tastes. Fill the holes with putty and smooth everything with 120-220 grit sandpaper before applying the coats of paint or stain. If you like my project, don’t forget to SHARE it on Facebook and Pinterest.

could you have any plans for a gun stand or vice please
I put the feet on the inside so the bottom braces rest on them for added vertical support.
I would love to see your project!
