Building the bottom of the tree

Building the bottom of the tree

The first step of the woodworking project is to build the base of the wooden tree. As you can easily notice in the diagram, you need to use two pieces of 1×6 lumber to build the base. Mark the cut lines with a pencil, after taking accurate measurements. Use a circular saw to get the job done in a professional manner.

Next, build the middle section of the Christmas tree using the pattern described in the diagram. Make sure the blade of the circular saw goes exactly over the cut lines to get a professional result.

Continue the project by building the top of the tree described in the diagram. Use the dimensions shown in the diagram to get a professional result.

Fitting the support

Fitting the support

One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to assemble the wooden tree together as described in the diagram. In order to get a professional result, we recommend you to leave no gaps between the components. Align the edges with great care and cut the end of the support at 50 degrees. Insert 1 1/4″ brad nails to create rigid bonds. Add glue to the joints and remove the excess with a damp cloth.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.

Smart Tip: Apply several coats of stain or paint to the wooden components, if you want to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the Christmas tree.
