  • A – 2 pieces of 2×3 lumber – 62″ long VERTICAL SUPPORTS
  • B – 4 pieces of 2×3 lumber – 22″ long HORIZONTAL SUPPORTS
  • C – 1 piece of fabric – 25″x62″ long FABRIC

Tools

  • Safety gloves, glasses, Miter saw, jigsaw
  • Chalk line, tape measure, spirit level, carpentry pencil
  • Drill machinery and drill bits

Tips

  • Apply several coats of wood stain to the wooden components
  • Fill the holes with wood filler and smooth the surface

The first step of the project is to build the components fro the room dividers. In order to get the job done in a professional manner, we recommend you to build the components out of 2×3 lumber. Mark the cut lines on the components and make the notches using a circular saw. Make several parallel cuts (3/4″ deep) inside the marked lines and remove the excess materials with a chisel. Smooth the recesses using sandpaper.

The next step of the woodworking project is to assemble the panels. Add glue to the joints, drill pilot holes and insert 1 1/4″ screws to reinforce the joints, after making sure the corners are square. Clamp the components together for several hours, until the glue dries out.

In order to get a professional result, we recommend you to lock the panels together by using piano hinges or metal hinges. Align the panels at both ends and leave no significant gaps between them.
