Plant stand plans
Â
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the frames for the plant stand. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to build the frames out of 1×4 lumber. Cut the components out of 1×4 slats and lock them together with galvanized screws. Check if the corners are square and add waterproof glue to enhance the bond of the joints.
Â
Â
The next step of the woodworking project is to attach the 1×4 legs to the frames. Secure the legs to the frames, making sure they are plumb and the corners are square. Add glue to the joints in order to enhance the rigidity of the structure.
Â
Â
Attach the 1×6 support slats to the frames, as described in the diagram. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the slats before attaching them to the frames. Add glue to the joints and place the supports equally-spaced.
Â
Â
Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.
Smart tip: Apply several coats of stain or paint to the wooden components, if you want to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the plant stand.
