My hubby built this floating platform bed frame in a weekend. I really like how it turned out, as he added led lights under the bed frame.

I want my platform bed to be about 5 ft high so I can have alot of storage underneath. How thick should the lumber be for the stilts so the frame stays secured? I live in an older condo complex that was built in late 60s and my walls are cinder block so securing to the wall is not as easy as bolting to the studs.

So you basically want to build a loft bed? Something like this? http://howtospecialist.com/finishes/furniture/free-loft-bed-plans/
