Built this doghouse for the dogs at the local Buddhist temple. I used 2×4 framing, 3/4″ ACX plywood for the floor and roof, 1/2″ ACX plywood for the exterior walls and 1/4″ ACX plywood for the interior walls, with two layers of 3/4″ styrofoam for insulation. The trim was 1×3 common board. The entryway was added with 2×2 framing. Its inside walls, which extend into the doorway, were made of 1/2″ plywood, with 1/4″ plywood exteriors. The whole thing was stained & sealed with transparent waterproof paint. The monk is very happy with the dogs’ new “mansion”!
