DIY Project – Simple Outhouse

 

Used the outhouse plans for “loo” on a remote piece of property in the San Juan mountains in Colorado (9800ft). The general plan worked great and made the following modifications…

Solid floor and no seat as the goal was to use a portable RV style toilet. Priced out the T-11 panels at $50/each so used OSB ($15/ea) and recycled cedar to save some money and add a nice esthetic.

Due to winter snow loads, I beefed up the roof with 2″x8″ treated lumber and added two layers of clear poly roof panel for enhancing natural light.
