I successfully built this a frame over the weekend built almost identical to specs here. I did, however, decide to cut the beams at 84″ as I did not plan to concrete them into the ground. I have no issues with the stability of this frame by being placed on top of the soil.

Total time of build: about 6 hours

Here is my shopping list to complete the A-Frame:

WOOD

(6) 4x4x8

(1) 4x4x10

HARDWARE

Box of 3.5in screws

12 5in 1/2in galvanized screws

(2) eye hooks

(6) chain hooks

20 ft of Chain
