This step by step woodworking project is about free shed ramp plans. This article is PART 3 of the shed with garage door project, where I show you how to frame the ramp. This ramp is extremely sturdy and it provides a lot of accessibility to the interior of the shed. If you have a motorcycle, a lawn tractor or even an ATV, you will find it extremely easy to store them inside the shed. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.
We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.

DIY Shed Ramp Plans
The first step of the project is to build the joists for the shed ramp. Cut one end of the joists at 80 degrees, using a miter saw.
Mark the cut lines on the joists and then get the job done with a circular saw.
Make a notch to the bottom of the joists, so you can install the support. Mark the cut lines and then make repetitive cuts with a circular saw. Remove the excess material with a chisel and smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Fit the joists to the front of the shed, making sure you place them equally-spaced. Use joist hangers to lock them to the shed frame, or you should toe nail them into place.
Fit the 2×4 support to the base of the ramp. Drill pilot holes through the joists and then insert 2 1/2″ screws into the support.
Fit the 1×6 or 2×6 slats to the joists, so you can build the ramp. Drill pilot holes and insert 2 1/2″ screws to lock the slats into place tightly.
Seen from one side, the shed has a really nice design. You can build this shed in any area of your backyard and it will blend in nicely with the landscaping.
