This is PART 3 of the large storage shed project, where I show you how to build the double doors and how to fit the decorative trims. We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Building a 16×20 shed
Materials
- M – 4 pieces of 1×4 lumber – 94″ long, 2 pieces – 192″ long, 4 pieces – 93 3/4″ long TRIMS
- N – 2 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 87 1/2″ long, 1 pieces – 79″ long JAMBS
- O – 1 piece of T1-11 siding – 36″x77 1/2″ long, 2 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 36″ long, 2 pieces – 80 1/2″ long, 1 piece – 29″ long 2xDOOR
- 16 pieces of 1×4 lumber – 8′
- 2 pieces of T1-11 siding – 4’x8′
- 10 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 8′
- 2 1/2″ screws, 3 1/2″ screws, 1 5/8″ screws

How to build double shed doors
Fitting the door jambs
The first step of the project is to build and attach the 2×4 jambs around the door opening. Align the edges flush and then secure them into place with 2 1/2″ screws.
Building the doors
Build the double doors from T1-11 siding and from 2×4 lumber. First, you need to assemble the door frame using pocket holes and 2 1/2″ screws. Make sure the corners are square and align the edges with attention. Fit the panels to the door frames and secure them into place with 2″ brad nails.
Fitting the front doors
Fit the doors to the door opening and secure them to the jambs with hinges. Install a latch so you can lock the door together properly. Moreover, install handles so you can open and close the doors easily.
Side trims
The next step of the project is to fit the 1×4 trims to the sides of the shed. Align the edges flush and insert 2″ brad nails to lock the trims into place tightly.
Front and back trims
Last but not least, you need to fit the trims to the front and back of the shed. Make the cuts, align the edges and insert 2″ brad nails to lock them into place tightly.
