Building a Wishing Well Roof

This step by step woodworking project is about garden wishing well roof plans. After building the base for the wishing well, I recommend you to take a look over PART 2 of the project, where I show you how to frame the roof for the wishing well. With common materials and tools you can build this project in one weekend. My plans come with step by step instructions and you can easily adjust all the dimensions to suit your needs. See my other DIY projects HERE.

We recommend you to invest in the best materials you could afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant lumber, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before adjusting the size of the components at the proper size. Drill pilot holes trough the components before inserting the wood screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.

Build the rafters for the wishing well from 1×4 lumber. Cut both ends of the rafters at 45 degrees and then secure them to the stakes with 2 1/2″ screws. Drill pilot or pocket holes to secure the rafters into place tightly. Leave no gaps between the components and add glue to the joints for a professional result.
